Why do you resist doing the very thing you say is so important to reach your goal?
By the way it’s not just you, it’s all of us.
In The War of Art, Steven Pressfield says resistance is most likely to rear its ugly head when you’re trying to improve yourself, your life, or another’s life. He gives examples of when resistance is almost sure to show up.
~When you’re practicing any diet or health regimen.
~Any program to overcome a habit or addiction.
~Education of every kind.
~Any action that takes commitment of the heart.
You know this is true. But it doesn’t seem right does it? You’d think everything would just be simple since you’re doing something good…but then resistance shows up.
Because you’re getting closer to your goal, your dream.
“The more important an activity is to your soul’s evolution the more resistance you will feel.” –Steven Pressfield
How are you meeting resistance head-on?
Are you clear on your WHY, your dream, your goal?
Are you paying attention to your body’s physical sensations when you resist the action you committed to?
Do you notice the emotions that come up when you skip or stop doing the activity that was getting you closer to your goal?
If the answer is “not so much” to any of these questions, then let’s talk. You’ll be surprised how clear things become when we put our heads together.
Light, love and grace to you.
